Toget more testers, you might wanna send notices like this to the
general Orca list. This list has basically been dead for months!
I think many more people follow the other list. Half the time, I
rarely even open this folder on my box because the list is so dead.

Hi
Thank you very much for the prompt feedback. I am working on the
Gedit script too; will upload revised patch including Gedit as
soon as the changes are through.
Regards.

Hi,
This patch is working very well. Is there any chance that
support could be added for gedit too? I tried it and it just
read everything. Of course I only tried briefly with a small
file, so if it is supposed to work already let me know and I
get a larger file to try with. I have been testing mainly
with Evolution.
Thanks

This patch adds basic skim read feature. When user
issues the 'Skim Read' command (Ctrl + KP_Add in
desktop, Orca + Ctrl + semicolon in laptop), Orca
skims through the entire document, starting at the
current line/ sentence, and then reading only the
first line/ sentence of each subsequent paragraph. It
reads either lines or sentences depending on the
"Say-All-By" setting. Works for OOo writer, Firefox,
Evolution and Thunderbird.
I have uploaded the patch https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=174591
to the Skim Read bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=577481.
Please test the patch and tell me if you find it
useful.
