Hello,
Installation of ORBit 0.5.17 on my SGI workstation (IRIX 64 release 6.5)
failed!
After installation of the required glib (1.2.8) and gettext (0.12)
freewares, I used the standard
procedure:
./configure : step completed
then
make or gmake : step stopped because of a problem concerning make or gmake
on popt/intl/
The message obtained with make was:
--------------------------------------------------------
make all-recursive
Making all in popt
cd . \
&& CONFIG_FILES= CONFIG_HEADERS=config.h \
/bin/sh ./config.status
config.status: creating config.h
config.status: config.h is unchanged
make all-recursive
Making all in intl
make: file `Makefile' line 208: bad character & (octal 46)
*** Error code 1 (bu21)
*** Error code 1 (bu21)
*** Error code 1 (bu21)
*** Error code 1 (bu21)
And, of course, no "&" is found on line 208 of the file popt/intl/Makefile
which is :
"@GT_YES@ $(SHELL) ./config.status"
The message obtained with gmake was:
---------------------------------------------------------
gmake all-recursive
gmake[1]: Entering directory `..../ORBit-0.5.17'

gmake[2]: Entering directory `..../ORBit-0.5.17/popt'

But, the libintl.la library is in /usr//local/lib/ directory (well defined
in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable).
Thanks for any help!
