No, it's not a bug -- the libraries are LGPL (so apps that use ORBit
can be anything as long as they link dynamically), but the IDL
compiler and other utilities _are_ GPL.

Output from the IDL compiler should be the same license as the input
(NOT, as Frank claimed, LGPL) -- just like, e.g. GNU cpp or m4.

ORBit *does* have GPL'd components, but there's no gotchas involved.
Standard practice here: LGPL for libraries, GPL for executables.
