Getting closer but now I'm getting an error building tracker. After searching a bit I tried adding -lxml2 to the LDFLAGS but no success.

Okay, but that's not specific to Debian. :P

Looks like https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=519654 and as I
have had the same issue for months[1] I just comment that line. :-/

Interesting. The solution isn't pretty but it works. Hopefully no more show stoppers arise.
