Hi,

Try:

  sudo nmcli general logging level TRACE domains ALL,VPN_PLUGIN:TRACE

and reactivate the VPN connection.

Then, look at the debug logs (journalctl?)


Assertions are of course always a bug, and should be fixed. But that
does not seem related to your issue here.
