It looks like it's working to me? You do get some errors, but I believe
those are harmless and have been suppressed upstream already for a few
years. You're probably using NM 0.9.8 from Debian?
Anyway, the device enters the "unavailable" state, which means that NM
will manage it, if some conditions are satisfied. Those include:
a) wpa_supplicant is running
b) the device is not rfkilled
What do you get for the output of:
nmcli dev
nmcli radio
sudo rfkill list
