Network Icon not visible after NM installation

Hi,

I have build the NM source code on my ubuntu PC. After I have installed

--

NetworkManager
 --

 ModemManager
 --

network-manager-applet
-- network-manager-vpnc

all 4 modules and restated my PC. After rebooting the Network Icon is not visible. What will be the problem?
