Re: SMS sending feature error

Hi Aleksander!

I've tested several devices I have around here (ZTE MF626, MF680,
MF190 and a Huawei E270), and all of them worked flawlessly :-)

Cheers!

2013/4/25 Aleksander Morgado <aleksander lanedo com>:

I was playing a little with current git master (2320411), when I
noticed that SMS sending feature is broken currently.

I've tried with the devices Alcatel X220D, ZTE MF190, ZTE MF680 and a
Huawei E270 and none of them seems to work.

The problem appears as follow:
1. I plug a device, and after recognized by MM I enable it with mmcli:

mmcli -m 0 -e

2. I create a SMS with mmcli too:

mmcli -m 0 --messaging-create-sms="text='Hello world',number='+34645796861'"
Successfully created new SMS:
/org/freedesktop/ModemManager1/SMS/3 (unknown)

Immediately, MM dies abruptly:

WTH... I can reproduce this here as well, underlying GDBus code seems to
decide that MM needs to exit:

ModemManager[4193]: <warn> [1366905601.534287] [main.c:97]
name_lost_cb(): Could not acquire the 'org.freedesktop.ModemManager1'
service name
g_dbus_connection_real_closed: Remote peer vanished with error:
Underlying GIOStream returned 0 bytes on an async read
(g-io-error-quark, 0). Exiting.

This is weird, I haven't seen this before.

Yeah, git bisect took me to the 'Validity' property update in the SMS
interface, something has gone wrong in that commit. Will take a look.

Should be fixed now in git master.
