Hi,

I have a problem with a Huawaii LTE Stick which comes from German Telekom:

Bus 001 Device 006: ID 12d1:1506 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

For an important LTE test project I need to have this stick working under Ubuntu Lucid where all our apllications are running on.

We have some newer versions for modemmanager and network-manager under Lucid:

ii  modemmanager                           0.4+git.20101103t150351.a2d54b1-lvm1 D-Bus service for managing modems
ii  network-manager                        0.8.4-0ubuntu0~lvm0                  network management framework daemon
ii  network-manager-gnome                  0.8.4-0ubuntu0~lvm0                  network management framework (GNOME frontend)

The stick comes with a Huawaii software component called HWActivator which gets started by udev. The problem is that modem-manager is not able to deal with this device:

** (modem-manager:1046): DEBUG: (Huawei): (ttyUSB1) deferring support check
** (modem-manager:1046): DEBUG: (Huawei): (ttyUSB2) deferring support check
** (modem-manager:1046): DEBUG: (ttyUSB1): re-checking support...
** (modem-manager:1046): DEBUG: (Huawei): (ttyUSB1) deferring support check
** (modem-manager:1046): DEBUG: (ttyUSB2): re-checking support...
** (modem-manager:1046): DEBUG: (Huawei): (ttyUSB2) deferring support check
** (modem-manager:1046): DEBUG: (ttyUSB1): re-checking support...
** (modem-manager:1046): DEBUG: (Huawei): (ttyUSB1) deferring support check
** (modem-manager:1046): DEBUG: (ttyUSB2): re-checking support...

Doing the same test under Ubuntu Natty (11.04) looks fine.

Open a bug report in Ubuntu for backporting this support.
