NM plugins for different network connections

Hi,

I have a question about using other network connections, not only
"classic" ethernet, wireless, mobile broadband, etc.

For instance, what if someone would like to use Iodine client
(http://code.kryo.se/iodine/) with Network Manager?

Is it possible to create a NM plugin for setting up Iodine client? Can
you point me to appropriate documentation please?
