Re: Where and how to install D02HW in ConnectionManager?

Sorry, but I haven't found the time to do any work on this recently,
but I just got some additional information that seems to include
some of the debugging information you asked for (and which I haven't
figured out how to extract on my own). Here is the URL:

http://d.hatena.ne.jp/munetoh/20081121

The context is Japanese, but the author speaks very good English
when we have time to talk about it... The relevant part here starts
about 1/3 of the way down after he finishes with some other
hardware. This is actually the D03HW version, but my understanding
is that the problem is basically the same here--except that he's
fixed his. Unfortunately, his Japanese comment at the bottom says
this workaround is not safe? I probably won7t have a chance to ask
him about it today.

In earlier conversations, he said the real root of the problem is
the way the eMobile company has configured their network in Japan,
so this apparently is not specific to the AT command set of the
individual devices. I thought there might still be some AT command
that would provide a workaround, but he says that isn't the best
approach.

He has had some contact with the Japanese Ubuntu team, but he
doesn't know if it's already fixed in the coming release. I'm
wondering if I should try to open an official bug in the Launchpad
system? I was waiting on that until I had a better handle on the
problem, and I wasn't clear on the interlock between NetworkManager
and Ubuntu.
