NM ignores Motorola Q phone

I'm trying to connect to the internet via my Motorola Q phone MediaNet
data plan.
I am running Fedora 11
When I plug in my phone with a USB cable, I get the following log

A device eth1 shows up when I run ifconfig, but nm-tool and the
NetworkManager Applet don't see anything.
I don't know how to troubleshoot this further.
Can anyone help?
