automatic vpn connection

Godd morning,

I am quite sure that a lot of people have to connect to a vpn using a
mobile device and a special Network connection. So I think it would be
usefull to kind of associate the connection with that network (ip-range,
SID etc.) and to start up the vpn right after connecting automatically.

Is that possible? And if. How to start to get it working. I don't
understand the vpn - NM interface very well.
