Kudos and question

First, thanks for this program.  This is my first installation of Linux
and Network Manager Applet was the only thing that got my wireless to
work (Netgear MA521).  I had spent hours per day for 3 days trying to
get the wireless to work from the command line, but after installing
this program and rebooting I had wireless.  I literally almost cried.  

It works well but I'm having one curious problem.  Occasionally my
connection drops.  When it drops, it will attempt to automatically
reconnect, but never succeeds.  The only solution is to reboot.  I'm not
moving and nothing else is changing.  I can't isolate an environmental
variable changing.  So my question is: does this applet have a log file,
and if so, where would it be located on a system running Ubuntu 6.06?  I
would like to see if I can find what my problem is in the log.
Additionally, I'm not a newbie to computers and command lines, but I am
a newbie to Linux so please be gentle yet thorough with any help you can
offer.
