Re: nm madwifi and wpa_supplicant

The workaround for madwifi was removed from the FC5 packages.  You should look into upgrading your Madwifi driver to a version that supports the latest WEXT or compiling NM by hand and adding back the patch.

Hi,

I have an FC5 laptop with a Proxim wireless card. I installed the madwifi
0.9.0 drivers with wpa_supplicant version wpa_supplicant-0.4.8-10.fc5.

My access point is using wpa encryption. If I configure wpa_supplicant
manually everything works OK. The problem is that nm does not see the wireless
card at all. As a result if I am on a wired network and try to switch to
wireless things do not get setup properly. Routes etc. need to be added by hand
or I need to reboot. As I am typing this I am on wireless but the nm icon says
the network is disconnected.

What do I need to do to get nm to see my wireless card?
