rt2500 unencrypted network and wpa_supplicant

Hello everybody!

I'm trying to connect to an unencrypted network using NetworkManager (through nm-applet on icewm), but it fails.

Running "NetworkManager --no-daemon" I get the following stuff

NetworkManager: <information>	starting...
NetworkManager: <information>	ra0: Device is fully-supported using driver 'rt2500'.
NetworkManager: <information>	nm_device_init(): waiting for device's worker thread to start
NetworkManager: <information>	nm_device_init(): device's worker thread started, continuing.
NetworkManager: <information>	Now managing wireless (802.11) device 'ra0'.
NetworkManager: <information>	Deactivating device ra0.
NetworkManager: <information>	eth0: Device is fully-supported using driver '3c59x'.
NetworkManager: <information>	nm_device_init(): waiting for device's worker thread to start
NetworkManager: <information>	nm_device_init(): device's worker thread started, continuing.
NetworkManager: <information>	Now managing wired Ethernet (802.3) device 'eth0'.
NetworkManager: <information>	Deactivating device eth0

when starting nm-applet ...

NetworkManager: <information>	Updating allowed wireless network lists.
NetworkManager: <WARNING> nm_dbus_get_networks_cb (): nm-dbus-nmi.c:522 (nm_dbus_get_networks_cb): error received: org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo.NoNetworks - There are no wireless networks stored..
NetworkManager: <debug info>	[1146672296.452834] nm_device_802_11_wireless_get_activation_ap (): Forcing AP 'larts'

There is an "unconnected"-symbol shown. Clicking the applet a network list pops up an I can see my network. When connecting manually the following messages appear:

Obviously the frequency printed by wpa_cli is wrong. But why does it use wpa_supplicant at all? My network is unencrypted...

Btw... running "dhclient ra0" manually works fine.

Thanks for your attention,

Ciao,

Olaf
