You can remove "-Wshadow" from configure.in and rerun autogen.sh.

Maybe we should do so in CVS ... we should strive not to shadow
variables, but older versions of HAL leak symbols like "link" and other
stupid crap that should not be leaked.

Since some libs leak things but have been fixed, you are seeing stuff
that I am not, so I cannot fix it.  :P
