Two ways really:
1) Fix it with
gconf-editor. /system/networking/wireless/networks/<essid>/key_type
2) Choose "Connect to Other Wireless Network", enter the _correct_
information, and allow NM to connect. GConf should then be populated
with the correct information, assuming the connection was successful.
