I'm in the same boat as you. seems you have to do some vodoo to get
wpa to work
i was able to connect just 1 time
go to the directory /etc/wpa_supplicant. Using a editor open the
"wpa_supplicant.conf"
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=wheel
ap_scan=1 <--------1 if broadcasting SSID, If not broadcasting it will be 2
update_config=1
network={
ssid="Some Wifi Accesss Points Name " <-----You need the quote marks
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
proto=WPA
pairwise=CCMP <-----This is AES, you can use TKIP also
psk="my password!" <-----Plain text, with quotes
}
Next go to /etc/sysconfig With a editor open wpa_supplicant
# wlan0 and wifi0
# INTERFACES="-iwlan0 -iwifi0"
INTERFACES="-ieth1" <----Changed to interface name with quotes
# ndiswrapper and prism
# DRIVERS="-Dndiswrapper -Dprism"
DRIVERS="-Dwext" <-----Wireless drivers Dwext Dipw and a bunch more
run man wpa_supplicant to see the list of supported drivers
drop back and punt and after logging in see if you can connect. run
NM with the --no-deamon switch for output. Just seems to be alot
of work to get a extra layer of protection. maybe by FC6 this will be
streamlined and the wireless will "Not Suck" anymore.
But have to admit Wireless has gotten much better since FC3.
