Rest assured, this is something I and others will be looking at in the
near future.  We've got the same problems at Red Hat (as most people
have T41s with Cisco MPI450s), as have others I've talked to.

I've found Prism54 (NOT softmac v3 cards) to work fairly well, and older
Atmel-based cards also work well.  Atheros/madwifi cards seem to do OK
too, and come in CardBus and MiniPCI varieties.
