Dan, et.al. Here is a bugzilla https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=147386 that describes a conflict with running the latest kernel for rawhide and NetworkManager. Seems that there is a problem shutting down iptables if NetworkManager is running and has an active connection. Can't modprobe -r ip_tables.
