Paul suggests using another icon, say to sit beside the lock icon when 
WEP is in use, to indicate that a network is adhoc so that when both 
managed and adhoc networks are simultaneously displayed it is clear 
which is which.

When multiple networks are available, NM connections to the first in the 
list. Forcing connection to another network adds steps. Is there an easy 
way to let the user order the list?
