Hi!

I just installed NetworkManager on my IBM T40 running gentoo. I used the NetworkManager-20041208 ebuild from breakmygentoo.net. It work quite fine, it connects to my wireless and wired network but it doesn't autoswitch! Has this feature been implemented yet?

Hi,

What's the type of the built-in ethernet card on your T40? (running
'lspci' should show you, copy the line for it and reply to this list).
Also, what's the driver you're using for that card? (when in doubt, use
hal-device-manager and look for the "linux.driver" property on your
ethernet device).

If NM can't detect that the link status has changed, which is actually
picked up by HAL and forwarded on to NM, then it can't do the
autoswitch.
