Thanks a lot. This is bug 708939 available from
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=708939
I wasn't sure of the name of the toolbar affected but I hope someone can
modify the bug to use the proper name.
I also was thinking that it could have been a new view in Nautilus..
apparently it is not.

As an additional information creating a new windows gives a "normal"
nautilus view. Then I switched to the non-standard window, closed it,
closed the normal one and restarting nautilus gave me back a version
with a frame.
