In that case, I would suggest to reconsider the default value. RAW files of today's digital cameras are usually larger than 10MB,

and for me it was not clear that this was the reason for the thumbnails not to be created.

the file size was indeed the problem. The limit was set to 10MB. I have set it to 100MB now and thumbnails are generated.

Indeed, the default value is 10 MB, not 100 MB as I previously said.
