Trash directories are stored in the root of the mount in a directory
with a name of the form .Trash-<uid> where uid is the uid of your user.
See the freedesktop.org "Desktop Trash Can Spec" for details
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/trash-spec
Since your user don't have write access to create that directory, files
can't be trashed. Maybe if you created the directory and chowned it to
the user it would work.
