Because this is somehow related: KDE 4.1 implements the desktop bookmark
spec
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/desktop-bookmark-spec
for the user items in the sidebar and stores them in
$XDG_DATA_HOME/user-places.xbel. Would be cool for the next GNOME
release also...
