Yes, the bug report under [1] blocks resolution of another one [2],
which contains some patches. IIRC the last one I posted works but it
could be more pretty. The plan was to refurbish it once the blocking
GStreamer issue has been fixed.

Why are you interested in it, by the way? We have nothing usable and
stable yet, so it won't really help you.

A better short-term workaround would be to replace the invocation of
preview programs (i.e. audio players) by

  gst-launch playbin uri="<fileuri>"
