Desktop Icons

I'm going to, within the next few days, make a specification on the Bug
Tracker concerning desktop icons.

With scalable icons commonplace in icon sets these days, the size of
icons on the desktop shouldn't be enforced by tedious resizing by hand.

There ought to be a gconf option (along with a given place somewhere in
a settings dialog) to determine the default size of desktop icons.

Thoughts, concerns, opinions?
