Hi.
First of all you are right 'su -' works. I didn't notice the '-' :)
I don't know what is the difference but there is :)
Second thing. I don't know whether nautilus is somehow connected to
dialogs. I only assumed they are connected in some way since they
stopped working at the same time :)
Sorry for misunderstanding. I just know one thing if nautilus and
dialogs are the only thing in my computer that hang without dbus
session so it is not standard behaviour.

Did you look over my comments over using 'su' instead of 'su -'?

Open/save dialogs have nothing to do with nautilus. I do not understand
the comments there.
