There is no such thing as fd.o "approving" anything. fd.o is not really
a standardization organization in that sense. Its just a place desktop
developers can discuss common problems and solutions to them. However,
the trash spec is a fairly sane spec and had input both from kde and
gnome [i.e. me :)].
