Icons for files and folders were missing after installation of nautilus 2.10.0

Hi,
I have installed nautilus 2.10.0 in my redhat 9 KDE environment
but that made to disappear the icons for files and folders in both the
desktop and also the in nautilus file manager. Can any expert, suggest
what might went wrong ???
