In the equivalent to this described here:

clicking an incomplete download/install displays a detailed progress
window that can have a cancel button. Closing the progress window doesn't
cancel anything, it just hides it.
Could you try and make this generic so you can have some concept of
"completeness" for icons that aren't necessarily being downloaded? For
instance, launchers that are in the process of being installed/upgraded.
