nautilus send to

Hi

i'm having trouble getting nautilus 'send to' to work.
i'm running debian etch, nautilus 2.8.2.

the only error message i can find after selecting send-to from the
pop-up menu is as follows from ~/.xsession-errors:

Init evolution plugin
Init gaim plugin
failed to create local addressbook

the 3 lines above are appended to the end of .xsession-errors every time
i try to do a send-to in nautilus.

i have selected evolution as the default mail program in Preferred
Applications.

any suggestions appreciated.
