The path bar is pretty cool. There is one problem with it though, its
very hard to type in a location (as this opens a new window), which is
actually pretty common. This is a common complaint about the Gtk+
filechooser.

If we go for a pathbar in Nautilus we really have to solve the input-uri
thing better than the filechooser.


I wrote a patch for gThumb yesterday, replacing the location entry with
a pathbar. (It's a mit whacky, so I'll probably rewrite it). Maybe
"replace" is the wrong word for the location entry is just hidden by default. Hitting ctrl+L will hide the pathbar and unhide the location entry, after pressing enter or tab the location entry is hidden again and
the pathbar re-appears.

Maybe that would be a solution for Nautilus? In this case I'd suggest to
make it sensible to / also, just like the file selector.
