Well, they could always just run nautilus in single click mode, so that
documents will open in evince (or whatever) with a single click. Seeing
the file list and the documents at the same time should then just be a
case of adjusting the nautilus and viewer app window sizes and positions
the first time they're opened, so you can view them side-by-side...
after that their positions should be remembered. (Although
unfortunately GNOME isn't very good at the remembering part right now.)
I could use a script what kills an excisting Abiword and opens the
document readonly in Abiword. Maybe with some X-commands to put Abiword
on some place on the screen.
Because the customer is using OpenOffice, I could make Abiword really
basic. I could do something for PDFs too.
A bad hack, but less work as making an application...
I would really like it more to do something in Nautilus. Is it still
possible to use plugins in Nautilus? If yes, where can I find the specs
how to make a Nautilus plugin?
