List view help

I sent a similar email back in June - but didn't
receive any replies.  I hope you don't mind me
me taking one last shot at it:


How do I change file "type" descriptions and icons in
Nautilus 2.10.0 List View?  The ones provided by
SuSE-9.3 are too long.  e.g.

csv = text document (with comma-separated values)

Also how do I assign an icon to a file type - not a specific
file, the entire type?

Both were easy in SuSE-9.2 (Gnome 2.6) - so I suspect
that I am simply looking in the wrong place.
