Ooops! I meant to send this to the list. Sorry Alexander, you'll get two copies.

Don't you get a dialog where you get to enter username and password?
No. When I enter smb:/// I can see 1 icon which is labelled with the
domain name. This suprises me since the domain name sent in the message
is wrong. When I double click on that I can see all the computers in
the domain but when I try to double click on one of those computers I
get the "Don't have permission" message. I never get the username/
password request dialog.
On another subject, I have noticed another strange thing with Nautilus
that started yesterday (yesterday was when I noticed it anyway). All
the icons on my desktop and in the Nautilus browser (same thing,
right?) now look like sheets of paper. Here is a list from yum.log of
the updates I have made in the last few days.

10/13/04 15:26:01 Updated: libuser-devel 0.52.5-0.FC2.1.i386

Could any of these updates have caused this? I would suspect either or both libuser and system-config-users.
Thanks,
Steve.
