1. Do I understand correctly that image thumbnails are successfully
created?
2. You can rebuild nautilus and change this in nautilus-thumbnail.c file
to get some debugging information

3. Do the mime-type of file determined correctly? What does this command
show
$gnomevfs-info file
4. I remember something like association of application and video mime
type stop thumbnailing in nautilus near 2.6.0. Check in .gnome/
directory for those mime-type. Probably that helps.
5. After that you can upgrade to gnome 2.8.1. It also can help you a lot
of bugs.
