Hi, Currently, the changes done to Show Hidden and Backup files setting do not come into effect unless the nautilus window is closed and reopened. The attached patch adds a listener to listen to those changes , so the hidden files are shown or hidden immediately upon this setting change in navigation and spatial windows ( Desktop icon view ignore this setting for some reason).
