To me being laconic implies a cynical attitude - which isn't a good
thing when you want to improve something.
A cynical attitude can be a great aid to improvement so long as you
don't discourage yourself and others (sometimes even then). Far more
dangerous is unfounded optimism. Disatisfaction with the status quo is
the starting point for most relevant improvement and is in fact an area
that introductory design courses spend a lot of time to nurture (often
by having people keep a log of every little thing in the world that bugs
them or could be better or could go wrong).
