I'm not sure if this makes any difference or not but this should be
if ($_ eq "x-nautilus-desktop:///") {
since Perl uses eq for string comparison not == due to the fact that
scalars can be strings and numbers
$a = "0.000";
$b = "0";
print "a == b => ".($a == $b)."\n";
print "a eq b => ".($a eq $b)."\n";
gives
a == b => 1
a eq b =>
