I guess what I was trying to convey in my email before was that it's not
so much manual layout that's useful (e.g. I want this icon at exactly
216X341 over) so much as manual ordering (e.g. I want these folders to
always be listed on the top row, these folders always listed in the next
row)... which is why I was suggesting that not ditch manual layout
(which by definition entails manual ordering) until we have a
"snap-to-grid" where layout is done automatically but ordering is done
manually...
