spring loaded folders

Sorry if this has been discussed to death already, I see some discussion
in the archives around january of last year, but the result seemed to be
"nautilus has to be faster before we deal with that".
Anyway, the latest nautilus is definately faster than it was a year ago,
and works great, so I thought I'd ask. Any plans for spring loaded
folders (a la mac os) to be put in nautilus?
For those who don't know, here is what I understand of them from
discussions with my mac using friends (no direct exposure myself, but it
seems like a damn cool idea). You grab a file and drag it over a
folder. After a delay, that folder opens, and you can hold the mouse
(still "holding" the object being dragged/dropped) the next folder, etc.
This allows a user to navigate through a folder heirarchy without having
to open a separate window, navigate through the directory structure to
the destination folder, and then drag/drop to that window.
To integrate with the rest of nautilus, I might put forward the
suggestion that this would work on not only the folders in the current
window, but also the forward/back/up buttons and the tree view in the
sidebar.
Anyone implemented this, or planning on implementing, or absolutely hate
the idea or think it's impossible for some reason? :) And while I'd
love to submit a patch, my gnome coding has to come up to speed a bit
(read: a lot) before that happens :)
Regards,
Alan
