I always wanted to see a triple pane type interface... much like evolution or netscape mail where there's a tall left pane for a tree view, a top pane for a list/icon view, and then a bottom pane for a preview... for those who don't like that, you can get rid of the bottom pane and double-clicking on a listitem/icon... If we really want to be crazy, imagine something like this... same triple pane layout, except the top and bottom panes work like this... the top pane is your current view... the bottom pane is your last view... so when you open up Nautilus, the top pane has your home directory, the bottom pane is empty... you single/double click on the documents folder... the bottom pane now contains your home directory, and the top pane contains your Documents directory... you single/double click on an AbiWord document, the bottom pane now contains your Documents directory and the top pane contains an AbiWord viewer with the open document... you single/double click on a different abiword document in the bottom pane... the top pane's view is updated to reflect this change... you single/double click on a folder in the tree... the bottom pane now contains the AbiWord document view and the top pane contains a folder view of the folder you selected... Crazy, huh? -jag -- --------------------------------------------------------- Joshua Adam Ginsberg Cellphone: 713.478.1769 Rice University '02 Email: joshg myrealbox com St. Mark's School of Texas '98 -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin ---------------------------------------------------------
