It should work now. And as an added bonus it doesn't wait 400 millisecond
between each thumbnailed image(!!), so thumbnailing is a lot faster. I
also added some fast downscaling code to eel.
The "convert"'s are gone now, but now I see no thumbnails at all. It is
as if I had the "never show thumbnails" option set, even though I dont.
I am trying a clean rebuild now. (<- did not help)
How does the thumbnailing work btw? I mean, it looks like nobody else
had those "convert" things running, and as far as I understand, we
currently dont use imagemagick for thumbnails, since gtk has the
gdk-pixbuf loaders for jpeg and png and friends.
So am I correct in assuming the imagemagick stuff is just a fallback?
Then why did I see it? I tried the gtk+/demos/testpixbuf by giving it a
jpeg file as a parameter and it loaded it fine, so the loaders should
work..? Or could they be wrongly installed? Even the testpixbuf in
.libs/ (the real binary) works okay.
The only thumbnails that DO work are small images, which seem to be used
as the thumbnail as-is. So I know the "always/local_only/never" setting
does work in the preferences, since "never" also disables those. But
larger images do not have any thumbnails, just the file-type icon.
Puzzled,
Tig
