[Nautilus-list] Removable media question

I'm not sure if this is even technically feasible, but is there anyway that
nautilus could unmount and eject a cd when the user presses the eject button
on the cd player, assuming no other program is accessing the drive.

If it's not possible, why? I'm curious.
