Drag and Drop ideas . . .

Given the inherent difficulty of dropping a file into the currently open
directory (and the counter-intuitive dragging from the "Location" bar)
How difficult would it be to make the Icon in the preview sidebar
"active" that is, when you drag something to it, have it prelight and
change to the "Directory Open" icon, or some such? that way there is a
simple and largely intuitive way of dropping things into the current
directory (especially in list view) AND for dragging the current
directory somewhere, rather than being "forced" to open the tree view?
