As I recall, a long time ago when the spring-loaded folders feature was
discussed, some issues with the patents Apple had obtained were
mentioned... are these issues still present?

I thought I would look into adding the Mac like feature of having a

This is called "spring-loaded folders." To clear up Glen Garry's
misunderstanding, this is good because it would allow a user to move a
file from the Desktop to, for example, ~/music/humor/foo/bar/ without
having to open up the target directory first. You would simply drag to
~/, pause, causing ~ to open, then to ~/music and pause causing that to
open, etc.
I had thought this was planned, but I havn't heard of anyone working on
it. I, for one, would love to see Nautilus have this feature.
What area's of the code should I concentrate on to implement this.
Does any one have a suggestion for the method I should use?
I don't know about coding it, though. Sory.
