Re: [Nautilus-list] New show hidden/backup files patch

i also vote to keep this off the toolbar, mainly because most of the
toolbar buttons are associated with navigation, i.e. Back, Forward, Up,
Home, Stop.

Also, in my opinion, and this may be incorrect or misinformed, but it
seems to be counterintuitive to put toggle buttons on toolbars. buttons
on toolbars should perform an action, not switch the environment between
two states.

i would like to see this put in, however. if i were to pick a spot for it
to go, i would say somewhere in the view menu, as "View Hidden Files in
This Folder." (probably too wordy upon reflection)

it may be nicer to say something like "View Hidden Files in
$foldername" and have $foldername replaced with the current directory
name. this would avoid any ambiguity where a user has a folder
highlighted, and clicks on the menu item. Should it show the hidden items
in the highlighted folder, or those in the current folder? this negates
that question.

That being said, this would be a very nice feature if it only showed the
hidden files in that single window, and not all windows.

Good work on nautilus, and anxiously awaiting gnome 2!
